Week 17 NFL Player Props: Best Player Props to Bet From Connor Allen
Week 16 Recap: With 45 minutes left in the early slate on Christmas eve I thought we were going to be opening presents early. We were 4-1 with three plays still up in the air. I went all-in on the Vikings situation that I thought we had a good read on. I took Dalvin Cook over 76.5 rushing yards and Kirk Cousins under 265.5 passing yards. Dalvin had 40 yards on six carries in the first quarter and somehow finished the game with just 64 rushing yards on another eight attempts, despite the Vikings leading or tied the entire game. With three minutes left, Kirk Cousins had just put the Vikings up by eight points and had 255 passing yards. All the Vikings had to do was get a stop and the Kirk Cousins under would hit, or worst case, the Giants would score late and send the game to overtime. Maybe we could get Dalvin another few carries if that happened or if they got a quick stop. Either way, I felt good about our chances to at least go 1-1 and maybe 2-0. The opposite happened.
The Vikings' pathetic defense let the Giants drive down the field and score the two-point conversion in less than a minute. This gave Kirk Cousins enough time to drive 30 yards, bust his under, and for Greg Joseph to drill a 61-yard game-winning field goal. Saint Nick had stuffed my stocking with a bunch of goodies but when I went downstairs on Christmas morning, the Grinch had swapped it out for coal. Things only got worse on Christmas as Marquise Brown played a season-low 66% of snaps due to disciplinary issues and he still busted the under, largely on a 47-yard prayer from Trace McSorley. James Conner had 27 rushing yards in the first half but as the Bucs couldn’t sustain drives and hold any type of lead, he continued to get fed and wound up with 79 rushing yards, busting his under. All-in-all, we had a ton of other wins, but the losses have hurt pretty bad. Regardless, our futures are starting to cash and they are glorious.
Depending on how David Montgomery does the next two weeks (needs under 140 rushing yards), and if Nick Sirianni wins Coach of the Year (played at 25/1), it could be a 20+ unit bump on offseason futures alone.
