Perfect Fantasy Football Draft: 1st in a 10-Team Yahoo Half-PPR League
The first overall pick is an excellent place to be in 2023, as you have more control over exactly how you want your roster construction to flow, plus there are several choices that make sense. The downside is of course the long wait between picks, but getting to select back-to-back at every turn offsets any disadvantage.

My Plan of Attack When Drafting First
Roster Settings: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (WR/RB/TE), 1 Kicker, 1 DEF, six bench spots
With this being a 10-team league, my approach will still be WR-heavy due to a higher number of starters at the position but I will build in higher flexibility in my picks since more players will be available to me in every round, in particular the later-round home run RBs.
When it comes to QBs, I will rarely reach for the elite signal callers since their price is extra-inflated in 2023, and will be happy with one from the second tier in the middle rounds. In a smaller league like this one, I’ll likely wait a while unless one of the top QBs falls to me later than expected.
