Week 11 IDP Waiver Wire: Pickups & Targets
We're approaching the final month of the fantasy football regular season, and if you're still here, hoping to find a diamond in the rough on the waiver wire, you at least have a fighting chance in your league. You love to see that. Don't lose focus now; keep your eye on the prize, and let's find a potential league winner or two here this week.
This is a weekly reminder that some of you play in leagues where all of the listed players are already owned, while some of you play in IDP leagues where only a few IDP players are rostered overall, so the players listed below might not even be on your radar. Week 11 IDP Waiver Wire
Linebackers
Tyrice Knight
Big news in the IDP world on Monday with the Seahawks releasing starting linebacker Tyrel Dodson. Dodson has played a full-time role in the middle of Seattle's defense all season, and there was optimism that the acquisition of Ernest Jones would be good for Dodson since he was set to move to weak-side linebacker, a position that he thrived at while with Buffalo last season.
Dodson's departure opens the door for Seattle's fourth-round pick, Tyrice Knight. I was a big fan of Knight in the predraft process, and I was surprised to see so many linebackers come off the board ahead of him in April. Knight's a bit older and smaller than your ideal linebacker prospect, but for IDP purposes, he's exactly what we want. Last season, Knight led FBS with 84 solo tackles, posting 140 combined tackles overall. He also posted 15.5 tackles for loss, with 4.5 sacks, 7 pass breakups, and one forced fumble.
Knight saw a handful of snaps in Weeks 2-4 while Jerome Baker was dinged up, and Knight posted 7, 6, and 9 tackles while playing between 57%-74% of the snaps. It's possible that he doesn't play the 100% snap role that Dodson was playing, with Seattle moving to more nickel and sub-package looks, but I expect Knight will hold off any competitors for these snaps (Drake Thomas would be next in line), and he'll be efficient when he's on the field.
