Fantasy Football Defense Streaming Week 15: Birds of Prey
The playoffs are here and this is the time we like to look back at how things went in the regular season, but I think given the bizarre injury disparity between receivers and running backs it is tougher this year to gauge performance than normal. Obviously, we could have all drafted better, but a lot of the better receiver picks this year got hurt and it completely altered the season.
That doesn’t have much to do with streaming defenses, but it’s something to think about with our streaming picks as well! We aren’t fully in control of who is available to us on waivers. Yes, we could always bid more in leagues with FAAB, but that isn’t always optimal. We have to set ourselves up with the best strategy first and that means setting cascading bids for our waiver picks to ensure we get one of our top options. If you’re still reading this you are still competing for a fantasy championship, so we’ll keep putting in the work to win that championship.

Week 14 Review
Not the best week for our streamers as both the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears were firmly in the ‘miss’ category this week. In a week that there were no DST explosions, Miami putting up 3 points wouldn’t kill you as the top DST scored 13 points, but it could have been better. Chicago was in the negative as they couldn’t do anything to stop San Francisco’s banged-up offense.
On the positive side, both Tampa Bay and New Orleans tied for DST2 on the week behind San Francisco. New Orleans needed a field goal block on the final play of the game to get there, but it all counts. Tampa Bay was also blessed to see Aidan O’Connell struggle to find Brock Bowers or Jakobi Myers before leaving with an injury.
Overall, we’re at 38 hits and 14 misses this year.
Top Defensive Streaming Options for Week 15
Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers
Rostered in 40% of Yahoo leagues
The Cowboys are coming off a week of giving up a historic Monday Night Football performance to Ja’Marr Chase (tied for most receptions ever on MNF), but they are headed to Carolina to face an improved Carolina offense.
That said, Carolina is still 20th aFPA against opposing defenses and while Bryce Young is playing better, the weapons around him are getting more banged up. WR Xavier Leggette and RB Jonathan Brooks both got injured in Week 14. Add to the fact that WR Jalen Coker has been missing and a depleted Panthers offense that wasn’t great to begin with is still a target even with a disappointing defense.
