Fantasy Football Tight End Streaming Week 3: Hunting for Consistency

While the early-season passing trends across the NFL have been beneficial to managers who leaned into the running back position, it has been almost catastrophic for ancillary pass-catching options. This includes most of the tight ends, as, for the second week in a row, we have seen surprisingly few options clear 7+ half-PPR points. Luckily, most of our league mates are also dealing with this downturn, so even after a couple of clunker weeks among streamers, there’s still plenty of time left to close the gap.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season progresses and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.

To provide the advice you can implement, candidates for streaming must be rostered in no more than 40% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.

Week 2 Recap

Zach Ertz continues to play far ahead of rookie teammate Ben Sinnott, so it’s nice to see him put up decent numbers after finding himself in this article in back-to-back weeks, but it was dismal behind him. Foster Moreau ended up missing no work after exiting the concussion protocol in plenty of time to play Week 2, which effectively nixed our Juwan Johnson play. Cade Otton, or final deep suggestion, looks like he may not have a place inside the new Liam Coen offense, so we’ll keep him at arm’s length until he proves otherwise.

Though Colby Parkinson delivered a dud, I think he should stay rostered in leagues with a deep enough bench to accommodate him, but he is now no longer a streaming candidate with a 49% rostership.
