NFL Spread and O/U Picks: Hunter's Week 5 Best Bets
The first quarter of the season is in the books! Congratulations to all of those who have moved on in their survivor leagues, as large underdogs have continued success not only covering but winning outright in this league. I have had more of a September to forget than anything else and continue to follow the path of struggling after Week 1 concludes. Next year, I will continue to look into how to go about holding on to preseason priors while accounting for the shift in teams that are actually good/bad in the new year.
We ended the week by going 2-5 for -7.6 units. NFL sides have been brutal so far this year, and this week, it started with a Houston muffed punt for an easy Jacksonville 2-yard score and was capped off by a ridiculous DK Metcalf fumble while fighting for extra yardage in no man’s land. 2024 sides are currently 7-12-2 for -16.04 units on their own. However, I’d expect this to turn around soon as, since 2021, my NFL sides are 153-118-6 for +61.10 units with a 56.46 percent win rate. But for now, let’s just move on to Week 5:
