NHL Hockey Preview for Tuesday, November 8th?
We only have four games in the NHL tonight, but we certainly have some intriguing matchups league-wide. The evening's first matchup pits two Eastern Conference contenders as the Carolina Hurricanes take on the Florida Panthers in Sunrise, Florida. The Hurricanes are off to an 8-3-1 start to the 2022-23 season while the Panthers own a 7-5-1 record. The Panthers have been very good on home ice this season with a 3-0-1 record while the Hurricanes have been just as good as the road team so far with a 5-1-1 record away from Raleigh.
The night's second matchup is north of the border as the Montreal Canadiens host the Vancouver Canucks. After a brutal 0-5-2 start to the season, Vancouver has rebounded nicely going 4-1-1 in their last 6 games. The Canadiens have been solid to start the season with a 6-6-1 record after a very down 2021-22 season. Both teams struggle to keep the puck out of their own net with Vancouver allowing 4.00 Goals per Game and Montreal allowing 3.23 Goals per Game.
The next matchup should be a great one as the Penguins and Capitals go at it on national television. It's a matchup we see often, but every time Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin go against each other the game is worth watching. The Penguins are off to a disappointing 4-6-2 start to the season and are just 1-5-1 on the road so far. The Capitals are 6-6-2 through their first 14 games and are 4-2-1 on home ice.
Lastly, in the nightcap, the Minnesota Wild head west to visit the Anaheim Ducks. Both teams have really struggled defensively so far this season. Minnesota is allowing 3.42 Goals per Game while the Ducks are letting in a whopping 4.62 Goals per Game this season. The Wild are 5-6-1 so far in 2022 and Anaheim sits at 4-8-1.
