DFS Strategy for UFC Vegas 83: Song vs Gutierrez
The UFC returns to the Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada for another Fight Night iteration. This is far from an exciting card for fans with four fights receiving late notice opponent changes and one fight being cut for visa issues. There aren’t a lot of fights on this card to feel confident in so I expect there to be a lot of chalk in most lineups. Looking to get every advantage we can in cash games and head-to-head matchups leaves us targeting both sides of one fight to get an advantage this week.
Premium Plays ($9000 and Above)
Tatsuo Taira $9400
Taira is a dark horse candidate to become a champion. His takedowns and grappling are elite. He projects to get a finish in this fight via submission. DFS scoring favors the Taira fights. Expect Taira to rack up takedowns and control time en route to a submission. It’s hard to see a scenario where Taira isn’t in winning lineups.
Yadong Song $9200
This is a five-round main event with a talented fighter that offers finishing upside. Song has power in his striking and will also have an advantage in the wrestling department. Gutierrez is a solid striker who uses his kicks to stay at range. Gutierrez doesn’t offer much finishing upside and could struggle in this fight the same way that he did against Pedro Munhoz. Add in the fact that Song also has more five-round experience and he warrants adding to your lineup at this price.
