Cardinals TE Zach Ertz being released to waiver wires

Cardinals and TE Zach Ertz are mutually parting ways, with Arizona deciding to move forward with its TE Trey McBride while giving Ertz the opportunity to finish out the season somewhere else. Ertz will go on waivers.

Fantasy Impact:

This makes sense, getting a much more explosive McBride on the field rather than mixing them both in with Ertz returning to health. Ertz could be picked up somewhere who needs TE help, and the Eagles wouldn't be out of the question if there are any hiccups in Dallas Goedert's return from his own injury.

Week 15 at New Orleans Saints

Zach Ertz has at least 30 receiving yards in nine games this season but has topped out at 47 over his last five. He’s second on the team in targets though and with Noah Brown missing he should see something like his usual dose of targets against the Saints. The Saints haven’t been too bad against tight ends in 2024, ranking 12th in aFPA for the position. Ertz’s opportunities should be sufficient for him to perform at a TE1 level.
