The signing came after Buffalo's kicker, Dustin Hopkins, injured his groin during practice Monday. Hopkins had knocked off longtime kicker Rian Lindell.

Bills announced the release of veteran K Rian Lindell.

Buffalo drafted Dustin Hopkins in the sixth round this spring, despite Lindell making 21-of-24 in 2012. Hopkins should get a bit of a bump up the rankings with this news and will only be helped with EJ Manuel back healthy and running the offense.
