Cooper Kupp is expected to miss the remainder of the season after being diagnosed with a torn ACL suffered Sunday against the Seahawks, ESPN reported, citing sources.

Kupp underwent an MRI on Monday that confirmed the severity of the injury.

The wide receiver went down on the field in pain after running a route that didn't appear to involve any contact, so owners probably saw the final diagnosis coming at that point. Reynolds now takes over as the team's WR3. In Weeks 7 and 8 when Kupp was out, Reynolds totaled four catches for 61 and two TDs on five targets. But, most of that came in Week 8 against Green Bay when he totaled a 3-42-2 line. In those same weeks, Reynolds played on 83- and 88-percent of the snaps, so he seems worth adding for teams needing help at WR. As for the future, seems like a close call for Kupp to be ready for the 2019 season.

It was a non-contact injury as Kupp was running a rout, stopped to cut, fell and immediately grabbed his left knee, as seen on the CBS broadcast. Kupp is recently back from an MCL sprain, so obviously the hope is this isn't more serious than that. If Kupp has to miss time, Reynolds will be back on the fantasy radar.

Cooper Kupp is not listed on the Rams official Week 9 injury report.

Kupp's playing this week was widely reported on Thursday. Our comments at the time still hold true with today's news: "With the Rams facing a poor Saints pass defense, this is great news. We consider him a must-start WR2 with upside. His presence doesn't impact Brandin Cooks or Robert Woods so much as it helps Jared Goff and the rest of the offense. Cooks and Woods are both top-15 options with Goff a clear top-five quarterback play."

Rams head coach Sean McVay said Cooper Kupp is still on track to play versus the Saints this week. "I know he’s feeling good and confident and excited to be back out there,” McVay said.

With the Rams facing a poor Saints pass defense, this is great news. They may take it a bit slow with Kupp, so use some cautious optimism, but consider him a must-start WR2. His presence doesn't impact Brandin Cooks or Robert Woods so much as it helps Jared Goff and the rest of the offense. Cooks and Woods are both top-15 options with Goff a clear top-five quarterback play.

Kupp has been out with a knee injury since Week 6 against Denver. A Kupp return should give QB Jared Goff a bit of a boost but will obviously hurt the value of Reynolds who stepped up with two TDs last week against the Packers.
