Quarterback Matthew Stafford said he didn’t experience any swelling after throwing Wednesday but also didn’t offer a timetable on his return to practice.

“That’s kind of up in the air right now,” Stafford said. “I’m sure Coach and I will talk about that at some point.”

Shaun Hill is expected to make his fifth straight start at QB on Sunday.

For what it's worth, Stafford was seen tying his shoes with only his left hand in the locker room.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford continues to heal from a sprained throwing shoulder, but neither he nor coach Jim Schwartz gave any indication Monday of when Stafford might play again.

"He's making progress," Schwartz said. "Each day that he goes out and does something, he does a little bit more."

Stafford said he would continue to test his shoulder.

"I'm getting there," Stafford said on "The Mitch Albom Show" on WJR-AM (760). "I'm still rehabbing, doing all that stuff. I've started throwing a little bit this week. I threw today some, and I'll throw probably again Wednesday and Friday and see how it feels and go from there.

"It feels pretty good. I wouldn't call it 100%. I don't feel like it did preinjury, but it's feeling pretty good, so that's encouraging."

Calvin Johnson injured his right shoulder after making a 29-yard reception early in the third quarter and didn't return. He was spotted comparing shoulder pain with quarterback Matthew Stafford.

"He landed funny," Schwartz said. "We'll see where it is (on Monday)."

Johnson talked after, but only said, "It's sore." When asked if he could've returned to the game, he said, "No."

There is a good chance that Lions QB Matthew Stafford could be ready to return to practice full-time next week and play against the Giants.

"I'm just doing whatever they tell me to do there in the training room," he said. "I'm just trying to get back."
