Panthers TE Ian Thomas suffered a toe injury on Monday. X-rays came back negative.

Coach Matt Rhule said Thomas would be back "soon.'' Thomas became the primary receiving TE after the Panthers moved on from Greg Olsen. We think Thomas could be a break-out candidate if things fall into place. He was on pace to be TE9 based on his production last year with Olsen out of the lineup.

On RB Miles Sanders’ injury:
Geoff Mosher: “We’ve said for a while he’s gonna be out with a lower-body injury and it’s not that bad. What I’m told was it’s a hamstring injury that he’s got. It’s not the least mild one, but also not the most severe.”

Adam Caplan: “I’m told he’s got a hamstring strain. I noticed he was doing a shadow drill [Sunday], which is when you’re mimicking what you’re going to be doing … just doing shadow pass blocking. Well guess what? If he’s got a bad injury, he ain’t doing that.”

The good news here is Sanders' injury doesn't seem to be serious and one would think he'll be good for Week 1. With only Boston Scott and Corey Clement behind Sanders, and a banged up group of WRs right now, this is a situation to keep an eye on as we get closer to Week 1. TEs Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert could benefit the most.

The Eagles announced RB Miles Sanders is "week-to-week" with a lower body injury.

Garafolo added that he does not sense any "great concern" that Sanders will be out an extended period, so hopefully this is just a precautionary or maintenance issue. Sanders has been hyped as the workhorse in Philadelphia all offseason so an extended absence would alter the fantasy landscape. Boston Scott is slated to take over starting duties with Sanders sitting out.

Imagine Miles Sanders becoming an even better receiver? A more versatile receiver? A more explosive receiver?

That's the plan.

Doug Pederson said Monday he envisions Sanders expanding his role in the passing game, adding different routes to his repertoire and lining up more in the slot or out wide.

Sanders caught 50 passes for 509 yards last year, both more than any Eagles wide receiver. He became only the 15th rookie running back in NFL history with at least 50 catches and 500 yards. The story said Sanders could lineup more on the outside, which means Clement or Scott could be in the backfield, and both are also considered receiving backs.

Doug Pederson says they have told RB Miles Sanders “You’re the guy this season." Doug says they want to increase Sanders' reps.

This has become the story more and more as camp has gone on: Sanders has looked really good according to a lot of reports from media and teammates. It makes sense because Scott and Clement are the RBs behind Sanders, and both play a similar role - a third down back. However, Sanders at times really made his mark as a pass-catcher last season. The Eagles haven't always used a bell cow back recently, but it appears Sanders could now be that option.

It's not easy to impress your teammates during a walk-through, but Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders has pulled off the feat. Sanders' focus on adding strength this offseason has not slowed him down a lick, according to center Jason Kelce.

Kelce called Sanders "blazing fast." He added how impressive he looked running routes even in a walk-through. Sanders has added weight, according to reports, but Kelce said it hasn't taken away from his explosiveness. Sanders seems to be in store for a big season as only Scott and Clement are behind him on the depth chart at this point, although the Eagles have been linked free agent RBs.

The Philadelphia Eagles have used a running back-by-committee approach throughout the Doug Pederson era. But Miles Sanders became the primary running back and helped carry the Eagles to the NFC East title, allowing Philadelphia to move on from Jordan Howard and make the 2019 second-round pick the primary ball carrier.

"I'm excited about Miles. I'm excited about him handling the full load. I don't see Miles as a guy that you have to monitor his touches," running back coach Duce Staley said (via the Eagles website). "I think you put him in, and you let him go."

The Eagles have used a committee approach over the years, including their Super Bowl win in 2017. Sanders finished eighth in the NFL in all-purpose yards (1,641) and recorded six touchdowns in his rookie season last year and pretty much took over the job with Howard injured. This is something to take note of as Sanders has proved to be a dual threat out of the backfield.

After Miles Sanders and Boston Scott, the Eagles don’t have a ton of options at running back. Clement, Elijah Holyfield and undrafted rookies Mike Warren and Adrian Killins Jr. are competing for roster spots. Because of Corey Clement’s experience, I think he has a clear advantage.

Clement had a great rookie season and he peaked in the Super Bowl win over the Patriots. The problem with Clement is he ended his last two seasons on IR so injuries are a big concern. At this point, he looks to be behind Sanders and Scott, but all three backs have similar skillsets.

Former Bengals’ QB Andy Dalton is signing a one-year deal worth up to $7 million that includes $3 million guaranteed with the Dallas Cowboys, source tells ESPN.

Andy Dalton already lives in the Dallas area so this is an easy move for the veteran QB. His value fantasy is still minimal unless Dak Prescott gets injured.
