According to Ian Rapoport on Twitter, Detroit Lions rookie running back D'Andre Swift is unlikely to play later today against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Impact:

D'Andre Swift returned to limited practices this week but apparently did not show enough for the Lions to feel comfortable sending him out there against the Texans. He will now have 10 days to recover before taking on the Chicago Bears next Sunday. Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson should split touches in his absence. Kerryon and Peterson are our 36th and 37th ranked running backs for Week 12, respectively.

Lions running back D'Andre Swift was a limited participant in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Texans.

Fantasy Impact:

Swift has yet to practice in full since suffering a concussion, meaning his status for tomorrow's game is still up in the air. Fantasy managers likely will not know Swift's official status until Thursday morning. If he does suit up, Swift would be an intriguing play against the porous Houston run defense on Thanksgiving.

D’Andre Swift is trending up on the Detroit Lions’ latest practice report, but Kenny Golladay is trending down and is very unlikely to play on Thanksgiving against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Impact:

Swift is dealing with a concussion, and after listed as NDP on Monday, he was limited Tuesday. He will still need to be cleared. Meanwhile, Golladay was limited on Monday but did not participate in the walk-through on Tuesday and was downgraded to out on the injury report.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift (concussion, out) missed practice again Friday and is out for Week 11. With Swift out, the Lions likely lean on Adrian Peterson as a runner and Kerryon Johnson as a change-of-pace back. Peterson has out-carried Johnson 97-to-30 this year, but only holds an 11-to-8 advantage in receptions, so Johnson should be involved as a pass-catcher.

Lions HC Matt Patricia told reporters Friday that the Lions “doing our diligence” with RB D'Andre Swift, said its “pretty tight” with protocols for him to make it to Sunday. “It is difficult” to see him playing given time constraints.

This is an unfortunate injury that was discovered late in the week, which always makes playing Sunday an issue. If Swift misses Week 11, Peterson should see the lion's share of carries.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift (concussion) was added to the injury report Thursday after missing practice. Swift is suddenly very iffy for Week 11. Adrian Peterson would likely lead the backfield with Kerryon Johnson as the backup. Peterson has out-touched Johnson 108-to-38 this year, though catches are closer (11-to-8).
