Steeler WR Markus Wheaton said missing his second consecutive game to start the season Sunday was a “coach's call” and that his shoulder is “fine.” He's just got to get re-immersed into the offense and back into football shape.
“Honestly, I think (health-wise) I'm fine,” Wheaton said. “It's just a matter that I missed a lot of football. And so with that little bit of practice it was an easy call for him.”
Wheaton practiced fully Wednesday and Thursday of last week – though, he said, largely on the scout team – and was limited in practice Friday. Sammie Coates caught two balls for 97 yards in Week 2 and it may be hard for the team to keep Coates off the field even when Wheaton is back.
