On Tuesday morning, the Colts signed veteran tight end Chase Coffman (37 career games, 3 starts).
The move to bring Coffman onboard comes after the Colts were awaiting MRI results for Dwayne Allen’s injured right ankle.
Allen suffered the injury on the fifth snap of Sunday’s loss to Houston. While engaging former No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney, Allen was rolled up on at the bottom of a pile.
NFL.com has reported that Allen is “week-to-week” and will likely miss some time.

Coffman will join Jack Doyle and Erik Swoope among Colts TEs. With Allen out, Doyle should see a much bigger role. He has 20 catches for 204 yards and three TDs.
