Streaming Tight Ends: Week 11 Targets

Has the TE you drafted not panned out, or did you purposely hang tight until the late rounds with the intention of streaming the position weekly? Well, I’ve got you covered. It’s time to assess your current roster and see if the TE you drafted is starter-worthy this week or if you are better off grabbing someone off the waiver wire with an above average matchup which can hopefully translate to TE1 production.

The main focus of our research when looking at a TE’s matchup is 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) metric. As the season continues to progress and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when coming up with weekly TE streamers.

The goal in streaming is to roster a player that is going to return TE1 fantasy points and in Week 10, we’re looking at a mixed bag. As the TE10 on the week, Zach Ertz scored 11.5 PPR fantasy points, Zach Miller ended with a mediocre 7.2 PPR points, and Lance Kendricks pulled up the rear with just 1 lousy fantasy point.

After 10 weeks of football, 4for4 streaming candidates are averaging 8.85 PPR fantasy points per game, which currently ranks as TE20. The optimal TE streamer has a combined 134.1 PPR fantasy points, enough for TE2 on the season thus far. On to Week 11 where we are faced with four teams on bye weeks, more injuries and continued lack of production. Here are this week’s streamers who will hopefully provide you some relief, as well as the kick in the pants your team may possibly need.

In order to provide advice that you can actually implement, candidates for streaming must be available in at least 40% of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

Charles Clay (BUF) @ CIN

Coming off a bye week, the Bills will try to get back on track after a rough three loss skid through Weeks 7, 8 & 9. Their Week 11 opponent Cincinnati, allows the second most PPR points in the NFL to the TE position with an aFPA of 18.8.

With Sammy Watkins out for the season, Clay has been targeted an average of 5.1 times per game, the second most in the Bills offense after WR Robert Woods. On MNF in Week 10, NY Giants’ TE Will Tye scored 10.3 PPR points, while rookie TE Jerell Adams also managed to compile 10.8 PPR points against the porous Bengals secondary.

Look for Clay and the Bills offense to bounce back with respectable numbers this week, making for a solid streaming option for those of you whose teams are in need. Owned by just 11% of Yahoo fantasy players, there’s a very good chance he’s there for you.
