Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 16 Targets
Here we go! For most fantasy owners, this is title week. A few leagues will go into Week 17 – and we’ll have another streaming article then – but most are wrapping up by Monday. If you have made it this far streaming the quarterback position, the last thing we want is to end with a dud.
Last week, our QBs were fine but uninspiring, while we saw Tom Savage and Matt Moore enter games and look impressive. Let’s work to find those high-upside plays for our fantasy championships. On the season, our optimal streaming QB is scoring 21.6 points per game, good enough for QB8 overall. Overall, our streaming choices have averaged 17.84 points through fifteen weeks.
As always, I focus on QB points per game and the Vegas implied team totals to determine good QB streamers, then I add in their matchup for the week. For opposing defenses, we utilize Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points allowed (aFPA).
Week 16 QB Streaming Targets
Matt Barkley (CHI) vs WAS
Matt Barkley has been slinging it since taking over as the Bears starter, and he gets a favorable matchup against the Redskins this week. Washington is giving up 19.5 aFPA to opposing QBs, second-worst in the league, and Vegas gives Chicago an implied total of 21.75 points. Barkley looks like one of the safest streaming options available in Week 16.
Barkley is available in 98.2% of leagues, and he is my optimal QB streamer of the week.
