DraftKings Week 12 Slate Breakdown with Cash and GPP Picks
Another week, another main slate where it looks like we should favor balanced roster construction and mid-range plays will decide things. (For more on balanced roster construction, check out the Week 9 Raybon's Review.)
Quarterback
Russell Wilson ($7,000) is the highest-scoring player in fantasy and has six 25-point games this season while no other player has more than four. He's the top cash play on the slate against a 49ers defense ranked 21st in QB aFPA. If Wilson isn't the week's top scorer, the next-best bet is Tom Brady ($7,700) against a Dolphins defense ranked 26th in QB aFPA. Matt Ryan ($6,400), however, has an implied total of 28 himself and makes cash lineups work better. The Bucs defense is ranked 25th in QB aFPA and have allowed the second-most passing yards per game on the road in the league (304.6).
In tournaments, Cam Newton ($6,600) is in a good spot against a Jets defense ranked 27th in QB aFPA. GPP leverage scores are telling us it's time to be greedy when others are fearful and target Alex Smith ($6,500), who provides leverage not only because his probability of hitting GPP value is greater than his projected ownership implies, but also due to the fact that a much larger percentage of the field is expected to invest in the Chiefs running game with Kareem Hunt instead.
