Another week, another absence for Jets wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, who remains a wildcard and something of a mystery in his first season with the organization.
Pryor could be a valuable, big-bodied red zone target for the Jets. But he has worked his way back slowly from offseason ankle surgery. He didn't play in the preseason opener against the Falcons, though he has received action in team periods at practice.
Pryor said Monday—after the Jets' second of three training camp practices with Washington, his former team— that he won't play Thursday at Washington, the second preseason game.
According to the story, Pryor also said he broke his ankle during spring workouts—before organized team activities—and that's why he needed surgery early in his time with the Jets. He didn't practice in the spring at all.
