Streaming Tight Ends: Week 3 Targets

Are you panicking after Week 2? Or perhaps you had streaming in mind when constructing your teams this draft season? Either way, I have you covered. As a strategy, streaming aims to find players with above-average matchups, which can hopefully translate to fantasy TE1 production for your fantasy squad.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. Since aFPA requires a minimum of three-to-four weeks of data to provide truly reliable results, in these early weeks, streaming options will be selected based on a combination of metrics, along with last season’s numbers. 4for4 rankings also come into play here and should always be considered when making league-specific roster decisions.

Our goal in all this is starting tight end results. In Week 2, my best streamer was Jordan Reed, whose 20.5 half-PPR points equated to TE5 numbers. So far, 4for4’s optimal streamer boasts 30.9 total points—good enough for TE5 on the season.

In order to provide advice you can actually implement, candidates for streaming must be rostered in no more than 40% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.

Logan Thomas (Football Team) @ Browns

Despite not finding the end zone last week, Logan Thomas was still second in targets behind Terry McLaurin and gets a dream matchup this week. The Browns allowed a league-high 20.3 half-PPR points to Mark Andrews in Week 1, then followed it up with another sieve-like performance, yielding 20.2 half-PPR points to the tight end duo of C.J. Uzomah and Drew Sample.

This may be the last week Thomas is streaming eligible as he’s close to that 40% rostership cutoff, but for now, the Washington tight end is free in 68% of Yahoo! Leagues.
