IDP Waiver Wire Pickups For Week 16
Week 16. We made it. Championship Week. I hope you have advanced to your title game or maybe you're playing for a first overall pick. Either way, I hope you're playing for something this week.
If you're looking to add to your roster ahead of Week 16, here are the IDPs to target off your waiver wire.
Linebacker
Terez Hall, LB, New England Patriots
Ju'Whaun Bentley suffered an ankle injury and just wasn't getting it done from a production standpoint. In the two games where Hall has received significant snaps, he's stood out. In games where he's appeared in 50 or more snaps, he's produced a 20.4% tackle rate, resulting in 23 total tackles. He seems to read plays quicker and does a good job hitting gaps to stand up the ball carrier. He also improved his pass coverage in Week 15, allowing 30 yards when targeted and limiting yards after the catch. Keep an eye on Bentley's injury, but with New England out of the playoffs, they may want to see what they have in Hall. If Bentley misses this week, Hall could be in line for more snaps.
Kwon Alexander, LB, New Orleans Saints
Alexander has been a three-down player in consecutive weeks and appeared in 90% of the 98 total snaps in Week 15. The production hasn't translated, as it's difficult to find an LB with his potential usage at this point of the season. He still takes good angles to the ball and recorded some solid tackles in Clyde Edwards-Helaire which resulted in little yardage. I like the matchup for New Orleans this week against Minnesota and Dalvin Cook. He might also be tasked with covering Irv Smith in routes. If Alexander is going to see the field for more than 85% of the snaps, you can't ignore the potential volume if you're in need of LB help this week.
Sean Lee, LB, Dallas Cowboys
Leighton Vander Esch was supposed to be the next Sean Lee. Unfortunately, he's following the injury trajectory as opposed to the production. Vander Esch left the game early due to a high ankle sprain. Even the toughest of players will miss at least a week with that type of injury. I don't think Joe Thomas is a lock to fill in either. Once Vander Esch exited, Lee received the bulk of the snaps - 27 to Thomas's 18. Even in Lee's limited usage, he looked a bit quicker and didn't waste any motion getting to the ball carrier. Lee made a nice tackle on Jeff Wilson off tackle that resulted in just a few yards. I think he'll get the majority of the snaps in Week 16.
Josh Bynes, LB, Cincinnati Bengals
I think I trust Bynes this week over someone like Ben Niemann - even with fewer snaps. Bynes has four-straight games of six or more tackles and is coming off a solid nine tackle effort against Pittsburgh. Over that span, he's recorded a 15.6% tackle rate and has produced 10 or more fantasy points in four straight games.
