The defensive back position, especially safety, can be a bit tough to analyze since they're asked to do so much. I've identified a few defensive backs who are seeing increased roles in their defense, which could lead to more snap volume and tackle opportunities, and big plays, resulting in fantasy points. These guys are either coming off an injury or are stepping into new roles thanks to vacated snaps.
Brandon Jones, S, Miami Dolphins
I think Brandon Jones finds himself in a position where he's looking at a full-time role in 2022.
In his first season, Jones showed promise, as a football player and potential IDP producer. Although he appeared in just 37% of the snaps, Jones recorded a 16.1% tackle rate and 0.27 fantasy points per snap. He showed discipline in his tackles and had a miss on every 10 attempts.
