Week 9 IDP Waiver Wire: Pickups & Targets (Fantasy Football 2022)
Week 8 is in the books and a major trade went down ahead of Monday Night Football. Roquan Smith was dealt to the Ravens in exchange for a 2nd/5th round pick, and AJ Klein. That may not be the only deal that goes down with the trade deadline looming. What does the trade mean for your IDP roster? Check out my three-down LB article with my thoughts.
Week 9 could be a bye-week disaster with six teams sitting at home. You will be without the services of the Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers.
Notable IDPs with a Week 9 bye: Myles Garrett, Deion Jones, Grant Delpit, Josey Jewell, Justin Simmons, Dre'Mont Jones, Myles Jack, Cameron Heyward, Alex Highsmith, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Micah Parsons, Leighton Vander Esch, Jayron Kearse, Donovan Wilson, Leonard Williams, Xavier McKinney, Julian Love, Nick Bosa, and Fred Warner. Just to name a few.
With Week 9 in view, here are the IDPs to target from your waiver wire.
Christian Harris, LB, Houston Texans
I was going to mention Christian Harris last week until I saw the missed tackles. He had one solo tackle but four misses. However, the usage rate was near 70%. Plus, Kamu GrugierHill was still looming. Well, we no longer need to worry about KGH, as he asked for and was granted his release.
Christian Harris was in on 100% of the snaps alongside Christian Kirksey. Harris was the lone LB to play the entire game. He looked good. In this play, he drops into coverage and makes the tackle on Chigoziem Okonwo to prevent the first down:
Harris recorded a 12.1% tackle rate - resulting in seven tackles, five of which were solos. Harris also cut down on the missed tackles - missing just one. I wrote up Harris as a redraft target and it looks like he’ll have his chance to finish out the season as a three-down LB.
