Perfect Fantasy Football Draft: 4th in a 12-Team Yahoo Half-PPR League
Drafting from the 1.04 spot will likely prevent fantasy drafters from having an opportunity to select Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, or Christian McCaffrey. However, starting with two elite wide receivers and one 16-plus-touch per-game running back is viable and can return superior value.
In this article, I will walk through my favorite players in each round that should be available to me based on Yahoo! average draft position (ADP) and discuss my overall draft strategy from this spot.

My Plan When Drafting Fourth
- Snag two elite wide receivers, followed by a high-volume running back: An elite running back cluster has been pushed outside of the top two rounds this year. Fantasy managers should draft a pair of elite wide receivers before exploiting this running back miscalculation.
- Draft an elite quarterback in the early-to-mid rounds: As detailed in the Round 6 section, elite quarterbacks are separating like never before. There are two opportunities in the early-to-mid rounds to draft a potential top-five finisher while also maximizing positional value elsewhere.
- Draft an elite tight end shortly after the quarterback: Tight ends have long been a top-heavy position and there are a handful of strong second-tier candidates who can push for a top-five finish. They can conveniently be had after loading up on elite options at the other starting positions.
- Exploit unfounded injury and touch-competition concerns: The mid-to-late rounds are chock-full of extremely talented players who would otherwise be going far earlier if not for your opponents’ fearful drafting.
