NFL SGP Picks: Ravens vs. Chiefs Parlay for TNF
For those who don’t know me, my name is John Hyslop, and I love to gamble, especially on football. It just feels so natural and pure. I almost feel bad for people who had to live before God invented football (and gambling). They never felt what we get to feel every week, and it's sad. But this isn't about those people; this is about us. It's time to lock in and forget about everything that's ever happened before because none of that is important anymore. What's important is, the NFL is back, and so are NFL SGPs. This could easily be the greatest season of our lives.

Thursday Night Football SGP - Baltimore Ravens vs Kansas City Chiefs (+235) - FanDuel
Leg One: Lamar Jackson 225+ Passing Yards
Do you want some honesty? I love this number. I actually thought this was a first-half line when I saw it. Lucky for us, it's not. It's actually for the whole game. I'm not sure how the smart people at FanDuel could sign off on something this off, but here we are. That's not important, though. What's important is how Lamar is getting to 225+ passing yards, and it's simple. Two words: game script. The Ravens won't be as good defensively as they have been in the past. They lost Defensive Coordinator Mike MacDonald and replaced him with Zach Orr. This is just like when they switched Aunt Vivs on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Sure, the new Aunt Viv worked out in the long run, but the first couple of episodes were shaky at best. My guess is, the Ravens give up points to the Chiefs, which will force Lamar to show off the cannon Once that happens, we'll be on to leg two.
Leg Two: Zay Flowers 50+ Receiving Yards
People forget that one man's passing yard, is another man's receiving yard. I don't know how they forget that, but they do. It's crazy. Keeping that in mind, if our guy Lamar throws for 225+ yards, then Zay Flowers has to go for at least 50 receiving yards. That's just science. I didn't fact-check this because I didn't have to, but every time Lamar threw for 225+ yards last season, Zay Flowers went over 50 receiving yards. That includes the AFC Championship Game last season. I always say, if you can do it in January, you can do it in September. That makes sense if you think about it. Hell, it makes sense even if you don't. We're on to leg three.

Leg Three: Zay Flowers 4+ Receptions
Now is where we take over. If you thought the first two legs were smart, this one is going to blow your mind. I can't even believe I thought of it to be completely honest with you. In order to gain receiving yards, you have to have receptions. You just do. It's the ugly truth about the receiving game that not many are willing to talk about. Lucky for us, this is a safe space, and I'm willing to talk about anything. Especailly receptions. Last season, anytime Lamar went over 225 passing yards, Zay Flowers caught at least four passes. It should be noted that I am not including the Cincinnati game because Zay went 3-43 that game. I'm not sure what happened, but it wasn't Zay's fault. All I'm saying is, if Lamar goes for 225+ and Zay gets at least 50 of that, then he's catching four passes. This is child's play. Feels right.
