Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley will miss at least the next couple of weeks with a sore knee, Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan said Friday night.
"Keep our fingers crossed that he’ll be back. When it will be, I can’t tell you for sure," Shanahan said.
Cooley has missed some practices because of a sore left knee. He had arthroscopic surgery on the knee following last season but has experienced swelling and irritation that has kept him off the field.
He missed Friday’s 16-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Fred Davis started in his place.
Cooley has given fantasy owners good days in the past, but he's not worth drafting this year due to his health, the depth of the tight end position, and Washington's bewildering quarterback situation.
