Week 8 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Friday

49ers QB Colin Kaepernick (right hand, probable) took full practice reps all week and is probable for Week 8. Kaepernick should be able to play against the Rams. He has been an erratic fantasy start this year.

Browns QB Johnny Manziel (right elbow, probable) took full practice reps all week and is probable for Week 8. The Browns say that they’re prepared to play Manziel if Josh McCown doesn’t feel right.

Titans QB Marcus Mariota (knee, out) took limited practice reps all week and is out for Week 8. Zach Mettenberger will get another start this week, which means that the Texans defense should be a good start.

Browns QB Josh McCown (right shoulder, ribs, questionable) took limited practice reps again Friday and is questionable for Week 8. McCown is expected to start per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. This is great news for Duke Johnson and Gary Barnidge, who have both thrived with McCown under center.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee, probable) took full practice reps all week and is probable for Week 8. Roethlisberger’s return is a big boost for Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant and Heath Miller.
