Scouting report

TEN WR A.J. Brown - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
OK, that's more like it. A.J. Brown got a season-high eight targets last week against the Chargers, catching six of them for 60 yards. He had been pretty volatile with his performances prior to that, but the change to Ryan Tannehill makes both Corey Davis and Brown viable WR3/flex plays.

TEN WR A.J. Brown - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
A.J. Brown got four targets last week and managed two catches for 23 yards but also fumbled. It will be interesting to see what kind of rapport he has with new starter Ryan Tannehill. But this is a reasonably tough matchup, especially if the Titans have trouble blocking the Chargers' front. Brown probably isn't useful for anything great than a flex play this week.

TEN WR A.J. Brown - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Denver Broncos
A.J. Brown is very much the Tennessee passing offense in a nutshell. When he's been good, he's been pretty darn good. When he's not, he's an anchor on your roster. Try to guess which is going to show up each week. Last week, that meant two catches for 28 yards for Brown. And Denver's pass defense figures to be a stiff test. No thanks.

TEN WR A.J. Brown - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Buffalo Bills
Yes, A.J. Brown had three catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns last week. But they also were his only three targets in the game. So he's a high-risk, high-reward player. That's especially true this week against the Bills. You can use Brown as a flex play, but be prepared for the possibility of a dog game.

TEN WR A.J. Brown - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Atlanta Falcons
Rookie A.J. Brown got five targets last week, which he turned into one catch for four yards. When you have more targets than yardage, that's not a good thing. He now has 10 targets in the past two weeks, but has turned them into four catches for 29 yards. Brown just isn't worth putting in your starting lineup at this point.

TEN WR A.J. Brown - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. at Jacksonville Jaguars
Rookie A.J. Brown got one more target in Week 2 than he did in Week 1 and had the same number of catches on those five targets. But his three-catch, 25-yard effort was much different than in Week 1 when he had three receptions for 100 yards. This is what you can expect from week to week in the Tennessee offense, which is, well, challenged. This is a difficult matchup this week, though Jacksonville's safeties aren't great, so Brown could get behind them for at least one long gainer. That's not enough, though, to justify having him in the lineup.

TEN WR A.J. Brown - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Indianapolis Colts
It looks like A.J. Brown will be the deeper threat of this offense after he caught three passes -- on four targets -- last week for 100 yards. He failed to score, as Delanie Walker was the primary target in the end zone. Brown is worth keeping an eye on this week and perhaps using as a flex option if you're in need of a start. But it's probably better to wait a week on the rookie and see if he does it again.
