IND WR Alec Pierce - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Green Bay Packers

The injury to Josh Downs allowed for more opportunities in Week 1 for Alec Pierce. He made the most of it with his 60-yard touchdown catch on an incredible throw from Anthony Richardson. Downs is likely back this week but Pierce should still see the field after this Week 1 performance. Consider Pierce a deep flex option for Week 1.

Week 15 at Minnesota Vikings

Alec Pierce caught four balls for 86 yards and a touchdown against the Cowboys before the bye last week. He also led the team with eight targets. Pierce has been inconsistent this season, but he’s flashed in moments. Pierce has some upside this week in a great matchup against the Vikings, who rank dead last in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Still, with Parris Campbell and Michael Pittman also involved in an offense that features the run game, it’s too risky to bank on Pierce in most leagues.

Week 10 at Las Vegas Raiders

Alec Pierce has shown talent in his rookie season, but the Colts’ offense around him is just miserable. The quarterback position and the next coaching staff don’t bring a lot of confidence for improvement either. Pierce has some upside in a great matchup this week, but coming off of one catch on two targets for 23 yards, it’s hard to trust him in fantasy lineups. Keep him on the bench.

Week 9 at New England Patriots

Alec Pierce caught three of his five targets for 65 yards last week. He’s been moderately productive as a rookie, with at least five targets in all but two of his starts this season. Pierce is still too risky to bank on in most leagues, however, with the Colts sputtering on offense. Keep an eye on Pierce in deeper formats, but look elsewhere in fantasy lineups for now.

IND WR Alec Pierce - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Tennessee Titans

Alec Pierce caught a touchdown last week against the Jaguars and finished the day with three catches on seven targets for 49 yards. Pierce has quietly put in a solid group of games over his past four, with at least five targets in each and eclipsing 80 yards in two of them.

Pierce is risky, as his production has been inconsistent and the Colts may run more with Jonathan Taylor back in action. However, he has some sneaky deep-league upside in a great matchup. The Titans rank 31st in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. We have Pierce ranked outside of WR3 territory, but he’s not a terrible option if you’re desperate.

IND WR Alec Pierce - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Alec Pierce led the team with eight catches for 81 yards on nine targets last week in a low-scoring victory over the equally-disappointing Broncos. The Colts have struggled offensively, but Pierce seems to be gaining the trust of quarterback Matt Ryan, playing 59% of the team’s offensive snaps last week – a season-high. He also has at least five targets in each of the past three games, giving him upside moving forward.

The Jaguars rank sixth in aFPA to opposing wide receivers, so it’s not a good matchup for Pierce to build on. Fantasy managers should keep him on radars, however, as this team needs to find a spark and the second-round rookie out of Cincinnati has been more impressive than the other ancillary players in the Colts’ offense. Sit him, but roster him in deeper leagues.
