Week 3 vs Carolina Panthers

Alexander Mattison is our RB42 heading into the week. He's in the flex conversation but we're still in the "hopefully" stage of his usefulness. Mattison has seen 41% of the snaps thus far this season but that's only led to a 27% rush share. He'll need more consistent usage to prove valuable moving forward this season.

LV RB Alexander Mattison - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Baltimore Ravens

Alexander Mattison outsnapped Zamir White in Week 1, showcasing his potential to carve out a larger role in the offense. Despite White starting and seeing 15 opportunities, Mattison proved to be more efficient with his touches. If they do go with the "hot hand" approach, as Head Coach Antonio Pierce put it, he could be useful as a flex play at points this year.

He's RB43 this week, so he's not likely to crack fantasy lineups this weekend but it's a situation worth monitoring.

Week 17 vs. Green Bay Packers

Alexander Mattison finished Week 16 with less rushing yards than anybody reading this. With two carries and -1 yards, it wasn't exactly the splashy return that anyone was hoping for.

He's barely a flex option at RB48.

Week 14 at Las Vegas Raiders

It was another disappointing performance for Alexander Mattison in Week 13. He only tallied 63 yards from scrimmage and failed to find the end zone.

Mattison is all the way down at RB31 this week. He's on the flex radar if you're desperate but hopefully you have better options elsewhere.

Week 12 vs. Chicago Bears

Alexander Mattison has been woefully inefficient in 2023. He saw 20 opportunities and wound up with 80 yards from scrimmage. Six running backs have eclipsed 15 PPR points against this defense but Mattison has been very hard to trust this season.

When the Vikings last took on the Bears, he only managed 11 PPR points. He comes in as RB37 in our rankings and is a desperation flex option, at best in Week 12.

Week 10 vs. New Orleans Saints

Alexander Mattison has been about as inefficient as they come this season. Mattison is still searching for his first 100 yard game and hasn't gained 50+ yards since October 1st. He only has a half-dozen targets over the last three weeks, as well.

With a tough matchup against the Saints, he continues to plummet down the rankings. Even with byes this week and an injury to his backfield-mate, he's all the way down at RB24. He's a fringe flex play, but expectations should be tempered.

MIN RB Alexander Mattison - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Atlanta Falcons

Alexander Mattison snap count remains around 60%, but he’s so frustrating to watch as a fantasy manager. Cam Akers is lurking and Mattison hasn’t been productive with his ample opportunities this season. He had just 31 yards on 16 carries in a victory over the Packers last week.

This week, Mattison faces an Atlanta defense that ranks seventh in aFPA to opposing running backs. With Mattison’s inconsistent workload, lack of production, and the Vikings now down a quarterback, it’s hard to trust him in fantasy lineups. We have him ranked as a low-end RB3 at best this week.
