Scouting report

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Baltimore Ravens

With Donta Foreman out for the year with an Achilles injury, Alfred Blue will resume the backup RB role to Lamar Miller. On the season, Blue has only 13 carries for 43 yards, but should see between 5-10 touches per game moving forward. Foreman scored twice last week versus the Cardinals, but the only reason Blue should be on a fantasy roster is as a handcuff to Miller.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Indianapolis Colts

Before last week’s game at Seattle, Alfred Blue had only 4 rushing attempts in 2017. He was given the backup duties to Lamar Miller and responded with 5 carries for 21 yards. Donta Foreman had been the No. 2 RB for the Texans, but his actions to protest the owner leading up to game may have gotten him in the doghouse. Be sure to monitor the Houston off-field practice news this week, but Miller is the starter and will receive the bulk of the carries in any event.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 17, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Tennessee
Filling in for the injured Lamar Miller last Saturday night, Alfred Blue led the Texans with 73 yards on 21 carries and scored the go-ahead touchdown. With nothing to play for, Miller may be kept out again this week, which should mean lots of touches again for Blue. With Tom Savage again at QB, Alfred could be a sneaky start.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Oakland
Last week in Jacksonville, Alfred Blue finished with seven rushes for 23 yards and was held just short of the goal line on a one-yard plunge. He offers very little fantasy value, as Lamar Miller owns the Houston backfield.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Jacksonville
Two weeks ago, Alfred Blue finished with nine carries for 41 yards against the Lions. With Lamar Miller battling a sore shoulder and the Texans controlling the clock, Alfred was given a few more carries above his season average. After the bye week, look for Miller to resume his normal touches, so there is no need for Blue to be wasting a fantasy roster spot.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 8, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Detroit
Despite a shoulder injury sustained last Monday in Denver, Lamar Miller will continue to be the Texans workhorse on the ground. However, Alfred Blue was having his best game of the year (11 carries for 63 yards) before a costly fumble pretty much ended his night. Be sure to monitor Miller’s status, but if he’s good to go, Blue should remain on your bench.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 7, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Denver
With Lamar Miller nearly single-handedly leading the Texans back against the Colts last Sunday night, Alfred Blue received just two rushes for 13 yards. The only reason he should be on a fantasy roster is as a handcuff to Miller.
