Scouting report

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. New York Jets
In the Monday night win over the Bengals, Alfred Blue led the Texans with 12 rushing attempts, but gained only 22 yards. He also caught a nine-yard pass. Outside of his great Week 3 performance against the Bucs, Alfred hasn’t done too much this season. He will continue to split carries with Jonathan Grimes and Chris Polk, making none of them a good fantasy option, especially against a New York D that’s yielding only 88 rushing yards per game.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Cincinnati
Two weeks ago against the Titans, Alfred Blue was back in the starting RB position for the Texans, finishing with 14 carries for 39 yards and five receptions for 33 additional yards. Chris Polk received eight rushing attempts, but neither back was explosive against a solid Tennessee D. Alfred will remain the starter, but doesn’t figure to have a good game at Cincinnati on Monday night.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Tennessee
With Arian Foster in the lineup last week at Miami, Alfred Blue saw just three rushes for eight yards. However, now Foster is done for the season, Alfred should again receive a lot more touches like he saw during the first month with Foster out. Blue busted through the Bucs in Week 3 for 139 yards, but has run for a total of 95 yards in the other six contests. Look for Chris Polk to split time, with Alfred receiving more of the rushing attempts. Tennessee’s defense is near the bottom of the league at stopping the run, however, none of the Houston RBs make for a good fantasy play on Sunday.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Miami
Despite being active in the win over the Jaguars last week, Alfred Blue did not play. He was nursing a toe injury all week and was listed as questionable. Chris Polk received backup duties to Arian Foster, who will remain Houston’s No. 1 RB and workhorse. Blue’s fantasy value is only as a handcuff to Foster.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Jacksonville
Arian Foster led the Houston ground attack versus Indianapolis last Thursday, carrying the ball 19 times. Alfred Blue saw just six rushes for 22 yards and an 11-yard reception. Now Arian is back, Blue should be considered only as a handcuff player to Foster.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Indianapolis
With Arian Foster back from a groin injury for Houston, expect to see Alfred Blue receive far fewer carries than the 15 he averaged during the first three games. In the loss to the Falcons last Sunday, Alfred collected 17 yards on six carries, as the Texans abandoned the run game after falling way behind. Blue is now No. 2 on the depth chart and should not be started, as Foster will return to being the workhorse.

HOU RB Alfred Blue - Week 4, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Atlanta
It’s almost too bad if Arian Foster comes back this week, as Alfred Blue is coming off one of his best games as a pro. He carried the ball 31 times for 139 yards and a TD in the win over Tampa Bay last Sunday. After struggling the first two outings, Alfred and the ground game dominated the Bucs. Arian will be a game-time decision and if he's able to go, expect Blue to be relegated to backup duties, which will mean probably at most 10 touches per game. If you picked Alfred up after his big week, be sure to monitor Foster's status, since Blue would have a good matchup versus the Falcons if Foster can't play.
