CLE WR Amari Cooper - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Denver Broncos

With Dorian Thompson-Robinson as the starter, Amari Cooper's fantasy stock has plummeted. He has five catches for 50 yards in two games with DTR behind center. You could argue David Njoku is the de facto No. 1 target now in Cleveland. It's almost crazy to see Cooper ranked as low as he is, but here we are. Cooper is a borderline playable option in Denver, especially if he sees a healthy dose of Patrick Surtain II.

CLE WR Amari Cooper - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Amari Cooper was just getting back into the swing of things with Deshaun Watson and now the quarterback is out for the year with a shoulder injury. This week, it's back to rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who has one start this season. Cooper had one catch for 16 yards in that game. Proceed caution this week with Cooper until we see what kind of connection he can build with DTR. He did see six targets in that Baltimore game, for what it's worth.

CLE WR Amari Cooper - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Baltimore Ravens

Amari Cooper was certainly happy to see Deshaun Watson return last week. Cooper recorded his third game this season with 100 receiving yards and scored his first touchdown since Week 3. The crazy part is he only saw five targets, but the Browns didn’t need to do much last week as their defense completely shut down the Cardinals. This week is a much different story. Cleveland gets arguably the best defense in the league right now in the Ravens on the road. Cooper is still a fine play, but also keep in mind he had just one catch for 16 yards in the first meeting with the Ravens.

CLE WR Amari Cooper - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Amari Cooper saw 11 targets last week from P.J. Walker and hauled in six of them for 89 yards. Cooper has been up and down, but some of that has been quarterback play. There’s still enough talent and volume here, especially in a solid matchup against the Cardinals, that Cooper should continue to remain a WR2/Flex option moving forward and now he gets Deshaun Watson back.

CLE WR Amari Cooper - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Seattle Seahawks

Amari Cooper has certainly been up and down over the past few weeks. Last week, it was just 22 yards on two catches. P.J. Walker is starting again for the Browns, so Cooper’s day could really go in a number of directions. Cooper is also facing one of the better defensive secondary groups in the league. Cooper’s talent still makes him flex or even WR2 worthy, but expectations have to be tempered this week and as long as Deshaun Watson remains out with his shoulder injury.

CLE WR Amari Cooper - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Indianapolis Colts

Amari Cooper took advantage of the 49ers secondary and scored his second 100-yard game of the season. And this was with P.J. Walker as the quarterback. Walker may be in again this week, but there’s a chance Deshaun Watson will be back after he returned to practice this week. Either way, Cooper is pretty much a solid WR2 lock at this point and definitely so in a week with six byes.

CLE WR Amari Cooper - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Amari Cooper had only one catch in Week 4 against the Ravens as the Ravens swarmed rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson. This week, it’ll be former Panthers quarterback P.J. Walker throwing the ball. One can hope there’s a little better connection for Cooper with Walker. He’s still worth a start this week as he always is, but it will be interesting to see if Walker can handle the defensive front of the 49ers.
