Chargers RB Austin Ekeler is expected to miss multiple weeks with a hyperextended knee and hamstring injury suffered during Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers.

Fantasy Impact:

Ekeler will have an MRI to be certain of the injury but Schefter reports Ekeler was seen with crutches and a brace to help with the injuries. The Chargers wound up having a miserable day running the football. Justin Herbert led the way with 14 yards. As a team, they rushed 23 times for just 46 yards. Joshua Kelley had nine carries and Justin Jackson had six. That could be about the split going forward. L.A. visits Drew Brees and the Saints next Monday night.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler was helped off the field with an apparent hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact:

Ekeler went down late in the first quarter and grabbed his left hamstring and had to be helped off the field. He had just two carries for ten yards and one catch for two yards before the injury.

Chargers WR Mike Williams (hamstring, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 4. This was expected. Keenan Allen, Hunter Henry and Austin Ekeler are the most likely candidates to pick up the slack, though Jalen Guyton and KJ Hill were somewhat involved last week.

Anthony Lynn said it's still a priority to get Austin Ekeler touches moving forward.

Fantasy Impact:

The tweet added that Lynn said the new scheme — primarily the increased QB and pocket movement — will limit check downs to RBs, including Ekeler, who only had one target Sunday. Ekeler did get 19 carries for 84 yards but a big part of Ekeler's fantasy value is his threat in the passing game.
