TB RB Bobby Rainey - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Bobby Rainey - Week 12 vs. Chicago Bears

It appears rookie Charles Sims is becoming the man to own in the Buccaneers' backfield. Bobby Rainey played on 19 offensive snaps while Charles Sims played on 31. Also, Rainey had five rushing attempts (no receptions) while Sims touched the ball 16 times.

Rainey will still get some touches, but it won't be enough to make a big splash. He's not worth a look this week.

TB RB Bobby Rainey - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Bobby Rainey - Week 11 vs. Washington

Bobby Rainey drew the start last week, but ended up getting the same amount of touches as Charles Sims. The two players damage each other's value in fantasy, which is not ideal because even if you combine their numbers you don't get a good outcome.

Rainey has more value in PPR formats, but he's still not a great threat. He also gets a tough matchup against Washington this week. The Redskins have allowed four rushing touchdowns to backs this season and three went to Matt Asiata.

Rainey should be viewed as RB3 or flex option this week.

TB RB Bobby Rainey - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Bobby Rainey - Week 10 vs. Atlanta

Doug Martin is missing practice this week, which means Bobby Rainey appears to be in line for another start. He did well last week as a starter compiling 121 total yards on 20 touches. He's proven to be a capable back when given the opportunity.

He gets a dream matchup this week against Atlanta. The Falcons have allowed the most...wait, haven't I typed this before? Oh yeah, Rainey was supposed to run wild against the Falcons in Week 3. Instead he ran 11 times for 41 yards. Luckily for owners he caught a bunch of passes in garbage time and finished with a respectable 105 yards.

Rainey should be used as a borderline RB1 this week in a great matchup. The Bucs' rushing attack has struggled this season, but Rainey can break off a big run at any moment.

TB RB Bobby Rainey - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Bobby Rainey - Week 9 vs. Cleveland

Doug Martin is unlikely to play this weekend, which means Bobby Rainey will likely draw the start. He'll likely be playing with rookie Charles Sims, who is coming off of injured reserve. Rainey hasn't been great this season so the Bucs may lean on the rookie. Right now it's not a clear situation.

We do know whoever gets more carries will have to try and find success behind the Bucs' atrocious offensive line. Tampa Bay is the fourth worst team when it comes to running the football.

Rainey has a favorable matchup this week against Cleveland. But it's a blurry situation in a poor offense. He's a RB3 this week.

TB RB Bobby Rainey - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Bobby Rainey - Week 8 vs. Minnesota

Bobby Rainey is the clear backup in Tampa Bay. He played on 30 less offensive snaps during the team's Week 6 game. He still managed to almost reach Doug Martin's production, however. He ran for 42 yards, just three yards shy of the Bucs' starter.

Rainey will get a favorable matchup this week against the Vikings. But he'll be limited in a backup role. He should be viewed as a low-end RB3. Essentially a handcuff at this point.

TB RB Bobby Rainey - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Bobby Rainey - Week 6 vs. Baltimore

Bobby Rainey was on the field for 35 percent of the team's offensive snaps last week. During that time he got nine touches for a total of 42 yards and a touchdown. He's clearly the backup to Doug Martin right now, but he's still putting up decent numbers.

He gets a difficult matchup this week against Baltimore, but can still be used as a RB3 or flex option.

TB RB Bobby Rainey - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Bobby Rainey - Week 5 vs. New Orleans

Bobby Rainey is clearly the backup guy behind Doug Martin in Tampa. With Martin back in the lineup, Rainey only had five touches and managed just 18 total yards. He did play on 40 percent of the team's offensive snaps, but he needs more production to be worth a start in fantasy. Right now he's a low RB3 in a favorable matchup in Week 5.
