With four games remaining, Patriots WR Brandon LaFell has already recorded career highs with 53 receptions, 712 yards and seven touchdowns. It was a bittersweet accomplishment on the heels of the Pats’ defeat against the Green Bay Packers.

“At this point, coming off this loss, it doesn’t feel too good,” LaFell said. “Overall, it feels kind of good knowing that I’ve still got four games left and I’ve already surpassed my career highs in yards, catches, touchdowns and all things like that. I just hope I can continue to provide those numbers and be a weapon in this offense.”

The story pointed out that, LaFell, who signed a three-year, $9 million contract last offseason after spending his first four years with the Carolina Panthers, surely looked the part in training camp, but didn’t catch a pass on six targets in the season opener against the Miami Dolphins and Tom Brady never looked his way in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings. LaFell has come a long way and has been a nice, consistent wire pickup for owners. He has a favorable matchup this week against the Chargers before an average matchup against Miami in Week 15 and then a potentially difficult one against the Jets in Week 16.
