CHI WR Brandon Marshall - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Brandon Marshall - Week 10 vs. Green Bay

Brandon Marshall came through with yet another disappointing performance when he last played in Week 8. He caught three balls for 35 yards. To be fair, he had a tough matchup against one of the best secondaries in football (New England). It was his sixth game this season below 50 receiving yards.

One positive to take away from his poor game was his 10 targets. He's now been targeted 10 times in back-to-back games. Meaning the opportunity is still there.

Marshall will get an easier matchup this week against Green Bay. The last time he played the Packers he didn't perform too well. He caught a touchdown, but he finished with two receptions for 19 yards. Owners expect more out of their high draft pick.

Despite his struggles, Marshall is still a borderline WR1 this week. He has too much upside to consider benching and the matchup with Green Bay is favorable.

Brandon Marshall - Week 8 vs. New England

Brandon Marshall appears to be fully recovered from his ankle injury. He played on 96 percent of the team's offensive snaps last week against Miami. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, it didn't turn into a big day. He caught just six passes for 48 yards as the entire Bears offense struggled. He did see 10 targets though, which is encouraging.

He'll draw a tough assignment this week against New England. The Patriots have held receivers without a touchdown in four out of seven games this season. It's a big reason why they're allowing the second fewest fantasy points to opposing wideouts.

Marshall is still a huge factor in the Bears' offense and will get plenty of balls thrown his way. He's also a threat to score every week. He should still be viewed as a WR1 even in a tough matchup.

CHI WR Brandon Marshall - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Brandon Marshall - Week 7 vs. Miami

Brandon Marshall was back on track last week against Atlanta. After having 117 yards in his last four games combined, Marshall finished with 113 in Week 6. He also saw a healthy nine targets.

This week he goes up against his former Miami Dolphins team. The Dolphins are not a lockdown defense by any means so Marshall should have another good game on his hands. Use him as a WR1.

Brandon Marshall - Week 6 vs. Atlanta

Other than a touchdown, there hasn't been much to like about Brandon Marshall over his last three games. He has a total of six receptions for 69 yards. Even worse, he only saw five targets last week against Carolina (his lowest since Week 5 of last season). Marc Trestman said this week that Marshall needs to get more targets.

He'll get a favorable matchup in Week 6 against Atlanta. The Falcons haven't been tough against wideouts this year and Marshall's talent makes him a must-start option. He should be used as a WR1.

CHI WR Brandon Marshall - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Brandon Marshall - Week 5 vs. Carolina

Brandon Marshall caught a touchdown last week, but overall his performance in the last two games has been terrible. He's caught just three passes for 25 yards. He's getting plenty of targets this season (32), but hasn't been able to take advantage of them (16 receptions).

He's been battling an ankle injury and hasn't looked 100 percent. He was a full participant in practice this week and is listed as probable. He should be ready to go.

This week he'll get a fairly favorable matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have given up a lot of points to wideouts over the last two weeks, especially last week against Baltimore.

Marshall's performance over the last two games is worrisome, but he's still a WR1.

Brandon Marshall - Week 4 vs. Green Bay

There needs to be a support group for owners who benched Brandon Marshall in Week 2 and started him in Week 3. In Week 2 there were reports Marshall was unlikely to play, and he decided to catch three touchdowns. In Week 3 we all knew he would play, but he only caught one pass for six yards.

Marshall did miss some playing time after re-injuring his ankle, and the injury affected his ability to play at 100 percent, but a one-catch game is not what owners expect from this Pro Bowler.

Owners should keep on eye on Marshall's health. He did not participate in team practice on Wednesday. We expect him to go, and if he does he'll surely improve on his one-catch performance. He should be viewed as a WR1.

Brandon Marshall - Week 3 vs. New York Jets

Brandon Marshall had an exceptional game despite being highly questionable to play in Week 2. The talented wideout caught five of his eight targets for 48 yards and found the endzone three times. Worried owners who benched him due to a possible inactive status must be kicking themselves.

Marshall did not practice on Thursday with his ankle injury, but considering he played last week he should be good to go again. He'll face a Jets defense that has allowed the most points to opposing wideouts this season. Just last week the Jets gave up 209 yards to Jordy Nelson alone.

It's worth keeping an eye on Marshall's health status just in case he has a setback. If he's ready to go then he's a must-start option in a favorable matchup. View him as a WR1.
