TB TE Cade Otton - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at San Francisco 49ers

Cade Otton saw 10 targets last week, which only trailed Chris Godwin (13) on the team. Otton finished 6-28-1 as he caught yet another clutch red zone touchdown. Otton getting 10 targets is interesting considering the week before he had 0 targets. We'll see what Otton can do in Week 14 in a tough matchup against the 49ers. San Francisco has allowed the fewest average fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season, including giving up just one touchdown to the position. Otton's sporadic usage and tough matchup makes him somewhat risky, but he offers more upside than most tight ends at this point in the season. He'll be a low-end TE1 option in Week 14.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. New Orleans Saints

Cade Otton played on 36 snaps last week (52%) but didn't see a single target. Instead, Cameron Brate had five targets while fellow tight end Ko Kieft ended up scoring a touchdown. Otton had some fantasy relevance with Brate inactive, but with both of them in the lineup, they kind of cancel each other out. Otton is outside our top 20 tight ends this week.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Cleveland Browns

Cameron Brate returned from injury in Week 10, but Cade Otton still had a solid role, finishing 3-35 on three targets. But Brate was also involved, catching one pass for eight yards on two targets. Otton also saw a little decrease in playing time, playing 61% of the offensive snaps after playing over 80% in the games where Brate was inactive. Otton will still be involved in this offense, but Brate might steal a couple of receptions, which really impacts someone who only averages about three catches a game. With Brate back, we wouldn't trust Otton.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Seattle Seahawks in Germany

Cade Otton continues to develop into a serious receiving threat. Last week he saw six targets, finishing 5-68-1. He even gained Tom Brady's trust with the game-winning touchdown, which just happened to be the first score of Otton's career. Cameron Brate has gotten in some full practice sessions this week, so there's a chance Brate returns from his neck injury. If he does, it'll be interesting to see how the Bucs will utilize Otton moving forward. It's hard to see them straying too far considering his production, though. Either way, Otton draws a great matchup vs. the Seahawks this week, who have given up the 2nd-most average fantasy points to tight ends this season, including the 2nd-most total receiving yards. Otton should be viewed around TE15 in the rankings this week.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Cade Otton saw five targets last week, which only trailed Mike Evans and Chris Godwin on the team. But he only finished with two receptions for 15 yards. Otton has played at least 50% of the offensive snaps starting in Week 4, and since then has averaged 3.4 receptions for 34.8 yards with no touchdowns. While 34.8 yards doesn't sound like much, only 15 tight ends are averaging more than that this year. So Otton may not be lighting up the scoreboard, but he's a decent bye-week filler if you need it in Week 9. Although he is facing a Rams defense that's allowed the fewest receptions to tight ends this season.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Cade Otton has emerged as a decent tight end threat following the injury to Cameron Brate. Otton finished 4-64 on five targets last week. Otton has had solid production in the two games this season where he played over 80% of the offensive snaps. Brate hasn't practiced this week, and given it's a short week with the Bucs playing on Thursday, it's safe to assume Brate will be out once again. That means Otton will once again be a viable option in fantasy. He'll draw a favorable matchup against the Ravens and will be a low-end TE1 play. If he isn't already rostered, he'd be a great streaming option for teams with bye weeks (hello, Travis Kelce managers) or injuries.

TB TE Cade Otton - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Carolina Panthers

Cameron Brate left last week with a scary neck injury in his first game after returning from a concussion. Brate hasn't practiced this week, which means rookie Cade Otton should return to the starting lineup. Otton has started to become involved in this offense, most notably in Week 5 when he finished 6-43 on seven targets while playing on 94% of the offensive snaps. Otton is certainly no Gronk replacement, but he's had the most promise of any tight end the Bucs have put on the field this season. Otton will be in the TE15-TE20 range this week, making him a risky streaming option for desperate teams.
