Scouting report

PHI QB Carson Wentz - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs New England
Carson Wentz and the Eagles are coming off a bye week. The quarterback's year so far can be stated as a disappointment. He has not thrown multiple touchdowns in a game since Week 6 and has looked off in certain games. Yet, he did not turn the ball over the past two games so that is a positive,

Wentz will get a chance to play the Patriots in Week 11. He didn't play in the Eagles Super Bowl win but now he will get his opportunity against a team that is ranked No. 1 in aFPA to quarterbacks.

With the tough matchup against the Pats defense and the ho-hum fantasy numbers Wentz has had this season, the bye week won't help enough to give you good numbers this Sunday,

Keep Wentz on the bench as a low-end QB2 against New England.

PHI QB Carson Wentz - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Chicago
Carson Wentz has not eclipsed the 200 passing yard mark the past two games but it's not like he playing bad. He just isn't putting up big fantasy numbers. Of course, the Eagles struggled against Dallas last week overall and it won't be easy bouncing back this week.

The Bears are up next and are ranked 6th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Wentz might still be without his downfield weapon DeSean Jackson who will probably be a game-time decision. The Eagles have not been able to throw downfield and it has hurt Wentz's numbers.

The matchup is tough and Wentz has been average at best so keep him on the bench for Week 9 as a high-end QB2. If Jackson comes back, he could be a low-end QB1 but have another option ready if available.

PHI QB Carson Wentz - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Buffalo
Carson Wentz has been struggling as the Eagles passing game is not what we thought it would be. In the past four games, he has been under 200 yards passing in three of those games. Last week, he threw one touchdown pass and one interception. It has been a disappointing first half of the season.

Wentz will face the Bills who are ranked 13th in aFPA to quarterbacks. It's hard to say if the Eagles passing game will snap out of the funk they are in. Wentz's rating has taken a hit over the past month.

We don't like Wentz this Sunday against Buffalo. He ranks a high-end QB2 so we recommend to keep him on the bench if you can. Problem is teams drafted him as their No. 1 and might not have a better option. Don't expect much more than what you have gotten from Wentz in recent games.

PHI QB Carson Wentz - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Dallas
Carson Wentz is coming off a decent game at Minnesota where he completed 65% of his passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw one interception. It was his first pick since Week 2.

Wentz will visit Dallas Sunday night and he has fared well against the Cowboys during his career. He has completed 67% of his passes and has thrown 10 touchdowns compared to one interception in five career meetings. Dallas is ranked 20th in aPFA to quarterbacks in 2019. The issue has been the health of the supporting cast for Philly. DeSean Jackson will be out against which takes away Wentz's vertical threat.

Wentz is a borderline QB1/QB2 for Week 7. The history might push you to put him in the starting lineup, but don't have high expectations.

PHI QB Carson Wentz - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Minnesota
It's been very hard to read Carson Wentz in 2019. Injuries have slowed down the Eagles offense and it seems Wentz has been up and down with his own play. Last week, Wentz was held under 200 yards passing for the second straight week and only threw one touchdown. One bright spot is he hasn't thrown an interception the past three games.

The Eagles will face a tough Vikings defense who is ranked 13th in aFPA to quarterbacks. They will still be without WR DeSean Jackson and that really hurts the Birds vertical threat.

Keep Wentz on the bench against Minnesota on the road. He only ranks a QB2 and we are not looking at big passing day for him for the third straight week.

PHI QB Carson Wentz - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs New York Jets
The Eagles have been a strange bird (yes, pun intended) when it comes to fantasy numbers. Carson Wentz only threw for 160 yards last week but did throw three touchdown passes for the second time this season. Wentz has been hurt by injuries and drops by his wide receiving corps so we expect him to get better as the season goes on.

For Week 5, Wentz faces the Jets who are 19th in aFPA to quarterbacks. New York is coming off a bye week so the Eagles might have to make some adjustments early, but expect a big day from the offense.

Start Wentz in all leagues and formats as solid QB1 this Sunday against the Jets. He will still be missing DeSean Jackson but he has enough weapons on offense to have a big day.

PHI QB Carson Wentz - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Green Bay
The Eagles are banged up and it has affected Carson Wentz and the offense. His completion rate was down to 53% last week and despite decent yardage numbers and throwing two touchdowns, the passing game is not in synch. The good news WR Alshon Jeffery and TE Dallas Goedert are expected to play.

The Birds will need all the help they can get as they travel to Lambeau to face the Packers who are fourth in aFPA to wide receivers. With the injuries, the matchup and the hostile environment, Wentz's rating has been lowered.

Keep him on the bench for Week 4. Wentz only ranks a QB2 against Green Bay and the Eagles passing game should be better, but not good enough this week.
