TEN TE Chigoziem Okonkwo - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Jacksonville Jaguars
Even with Will Levis taking over under center, Chigoziem Okonkwo has seen just 14 targets over the last three games and has yet to exceed 35 receiving yards in any game this season. The Titans remain a run-heavy team and DeAndre Hopkins is the clear-cut top option in the passing game, leaving little production left over for players like Okonkwo. The Jaguars are a middling matchup for opposing tight ends, but Okonkwo just does not see enough targets to justify serious consideration as a TE1. Okonkwo also has yet to score a touchdown on the year, which only solidifies his position as a dynasty stash only.

TEN TE Chigoziem Okonkwo - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Chigoziem Okonkwo caught three passes for 28 yards last week against the Steelers. He has yet to find the end zone this season, nor has he eclipsed 40 yards in any game. While it’s encouraging to see him get nine targets in two games with Will Levis at quarterback, until we see fantasy production from the second-year former Terrapin, fantasy managers should leave him on the waiver wire.

TEN TE Chigoziem Okonkwo - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Chigoziem Okonkwo saw a season-high six targets with rookie Will Levis under center in Week 8, but only turned that into four catches for 23 yards. Okonkwo also committed a drop on a play where he got separation down the seam for what would have been a big gain. The early returns on Levis are positive, which would be a big development in Okonkwo's fantasy projections rest of season. The Steelers' defense is vulnerable to opposing passing games but less so to opposing tight ends, where they rank fifth in fewest schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed. Okonkwo would stand to benefit if Levis turns out to be a legitimate starting QB, but he is still tough to trust as a fantasy starter until we see more consistency.

TEN TE Chigoziem Okonkwo - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Baltimore Ravens (London)
Chigoziem Okonkwo was having a disappointing season in terms of usage, up until Week 5 when he suddenly saw nine targets, including two in the red zone. He only managed 33 scoreless yards on five catches, but it was good to see Okonkwo attract some more attention from Ryan Tannehill with Treylon Burks sidelined due to injury. This week Okonkwo and the Titans travel to London to take on the Ravens, whose defense has been the toughest matchup in the league for tight ends thus far. The low-volume nature of the Titans' passing offense and the tough matchup make Okonkwo tough to start in fantasy this week, but his usage should be monitored to see how his targets share develops in the coming weeks.

TEN TE Chigoziem Okonkwo - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Indianapolis Colts
Through four games, Chigoziem Okonkwo has only seen 13 total targets and has 10 total receptions. His season-high for receiving yards is 35. Okonkwo's 81% route participation is good for a tight end, but he is simply not earning enough targets to be a viable fantasy option. The Colts have been about average in holding down production of opposing tight ends through four weeks, but Okonkwo will need a larger role in the offense to be considered for starting in fantasy. Look for another option at the position for Week 5.

TEN TE Chigoziem Okonkwo - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
After playing only 66% of Tennessee's offensive snaps and posting a route participation rate of only 58% in Week 2, Chigoziem Okonkwo's usage numbers bounced back in Week 3 when he played 83% of the snaps and ran a route on 73% of drop backs. That being said, the Titans were completely stymied by the Browns' defense and Okonkwo only caught three balls for seven yards. Okonkwo has yet to find the end zone in 2023 and his best yardage performance was in Week 2 when he managed 35 yards. Okonkwo is simply not seeing enough targets to return any value given how poorly the Titans' offense has played so far. He is not a recommended starting option in Week 4 against the Bengals.

TEN TE Chigoziem Okonkwo - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Cleveland Browns
Ironically, Chigoziem Okonkwo saw less playing time in Week 2 but turned in a better fantasy day by catching all four targets for 35 yards. Okonkwo remains an interesting prospect but he has only seen six total targets through two games. Given the run-heavy nature of the Tennessee offense, it will be hard for Okonkwo to make any noise in fantasy unless he finds the end zone or someone else suffers a long-term injury. The Browns have been tough on opposing tight ends this year and generally have a strong pass defense. Okonkwo is not a recommended start in Week 3 and is most interesting in dynasty leagues in his current situation.
