Scouting report

by Bill Riccette

PIT K Chris Boswell - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Chris Boswell has been about as reliable as they come in the kicking game, only missing two kicks last season. And with better quarterback play, Boswell will continue to see chances, including Week 1, since the Steelers could be putting up plenty of points against what looks like another bad defense in New York, even with the addition of CB James Bradberry.

PIT K Chris Boswell - 2018 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Boswell had 142 points and four field goals of 50 or more yards last season, making him one of fantasy football's top placekickers. He had six games with double-digit points and missed just five kicks—three field goals and two PATs.

Fantasy Downside

There's not a lot not to like here. Boswell will get plenty of chances.

2018 Bottom Line

Boswell might not attempt 38 field goals again this season, but he should top 30. If that happens, he should again be a top-10 fantasy placekicker.

PIT K Chris Boswell - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

2016 Fantasy Outlook
Boswell took over the Steelers kicking duties after four games last season and finished with 113 points. As the placekicker in one of the top offenses in the league, he's a solid bet to put up 120-plus points over the course of a full season. He also was 11-of-14 on kicks of 40 or more yards, including 2-2 on 50 yarders. As he continues to gain Mike Tomlin's trust, he'll get more opportunities from 50-plus yards. Boswell should easily be a top-5 fantasy kicker.
