Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday. McCaffrey has an AC join sprain. There was initially some optimism that he might be able to play this week, but the fact that he's been ruled out on Wednesday is not a great sign for his potential Week 12 availability.

Updating an earlier news item, the Panthers have now ruled starting running back Christian McCaffrey out for Week 11's game against the Lions due to his shoulder injury.

Fantasy Impact:

The Panthers previously announced McCaffrey would not practice today so this news does not come as a surprise. McCaffrey wil miss his eighth game of the season. Mike Davis should log another start in the Carolina backfield Sunday against Detroit.

Panthers starting running back Christian McCaffrey is expected to miss Wednesday's practice due to his shoulder injury.

Fantasy Impact:

The Panthers have not announced that McCaffrey will miss Week 11, but it certainly looks like he will based on reports out of Carolina and the fact that he will not practice at all Wednesday. Mike Davis is in line for another start if McCaffrey does sit out this weekend's game and will be a solid start against the soft Detroit defense.

The injury also sidelined McCaffrey in Week 10's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Panthers are still preparing for McCaffrey to have a multiweek absence, the source said, according to the story. There was no word about Week 12. Davis would again get the lead back role but wasn't a big factor in Week 10 with a 7-32-0 rushing line and a 4-12-0 receiving line. It should be a more favorable matchup for Davis against the Lions.
