2022 Fantasy Upside
Damien Harris broke out in 2021, posting five games with at least 100 yards, going over 900 yards rushing on just 202 carries and scoring 15 touchdowns. Four of those 100-yard games came with less than 20 carries. Harris can break a big one at any time, just ask the Buffalo Bills. Per our own John Paulsen, Harris was 21st in broken tackles per attempt, 10th in yards after contact per attempt and had a top-five PFF rushing grade.
2022 Fantasy Downside
15 rushing touchdowns is always tough to repeat. Plus, Rhamondre Stevenson improved as the season wore on and is ready to eat more into Harris’ workload, if not take over. Harris also isn’t really involved in the passing game. He had just 18 catches for 132 yards on 21 targets, so he won’t add much PPR value.
2022 Bottom Line
Harris will still get early-down work with the way the Patriots love to mix their running backs up. But that’s the key, the Patriots will be a true committee in the backfield between Harris and Stevenson, limiting Harris to an RB2 at best, more likely a flex.
