Chiefs RB Damien Williams (rib) did not practice Wednesday. Per Adam Teicher, Williams "has a chance to play Sunday." If he does, he'll likely form a committee with LeSean McCoy (and perhaps Darwin Thompson) against the Patriots. The Chiefs also signed Spencer Ware this week.

On the Spencer Ware signing, my understanding is that Damien Williams has a chance to play Sunday at Patriots.

Fantasy Impact: 

So Ware at this point is more an emergency signing, Teicher believes, but Chiefs will see how the week works out for Damien Williams. If Damien Williams goes, it's likely McCoy and Damien Williams splitting the workload. If Damien Williams is out, Thompson and McCoy could share with Ware and emergency option either way. Darrel Williams isn't expected to play this week.

Fantasy Impact: 

Thompson is looking like a must-add at RB this week. With Damien Williams in question and McCoy likely to get his workload managed, Thompson could be in store for a lot of touches as we head into the fantasy playoffs.

Chiefs RB Darrel Williams may only have hamstring injury

The Chiefs have two new players dealing with injuries that have left this crucial AFC West contest against the Raiders. The first was a scary injury to RB Darrel Williams. It seems like the Chiefs might have dodged a bullet there, though.

Fantasy Impact: 

Williams took a handoff from Patrick Mahomes on a play, took three steps and then his right leg buckled. It looked like it might have been a lower leg injury like an Achilles, the story said. Thankfully, the Chiefs are currently calling this injury a hamstring injury. He limped off under his own power.

With Damien Williams out this week, the Chiefs RB3 is an important position in the fantasy world. After Darrel Williams left, Thompson took over as the back behind McCoy so this is a position to watch as we enter the fantasy playoffs.
