Scouting report

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Minnesota Vikings

Daniel Bellinger caught one ball for four yards last week, though he was targeted four times. It's now been over two months since he scored a touchdown. Bellinger is interesting to watch for the future, but he’s too risky and volatile to warrant serious starting consideration, even in a nice matchup. Leave him on waivers in most leagues.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Washington Commanders

Daniel Bellinger caught all three of his targets last week for 19 yards against the Eagles. Bellinger has some interesting long-term potential, particularly in dynasty formats, but he’s too risky to start in redraft leagues. He has more than three targets in just three games this week, hasn’t scored a touchdown in two months, and is playing for a Giants offense that’s limping toward the finish line. Plus, he’s dealing with a rib issue. Keep him on waivers.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Daniel Bellinger returned to action last week and caught all five of his targets. He only gained 24 yards, but it was good to see him so active in the offense and fantasy managers should keep an eye on his role as the season winds down, particularly at a position with such limited quality fantasy options.

This week, Bellinger faces an Eagles defense that ranks ninth in aFPA to opposing tight ends. Bellinger has shown glimpses of talent in his limited opportunities this season, giving him upside if you need a streaming option with six teams on bye. He’s risky, but in the barren wasteland that is the tight end position, he may be worth a gamble in deeper leagues.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Jacksonville Jaguars

Daniel Bellinger caught a season-high five balls last week, gaining 38 yards and scoring his third touchdown of the season. The rookie’s role seems to be steady in this offense and the Giants need reliable pass-catchers with injuries and inconsistency plaguing the receiving talent in New York.

Bellinger has a tough matchup against the Jaguars this week. Jacksonville has a revamped corps of linebackers this season, and although they gave up a touchdown to rookie Jelani Woods last week, they rank fourth in aFPA to opposing tight ends. Bellinger is a risky, touchdown-dependent option this week, but has sneaky upside with the dearth of options at the position, and the equally thin number of options in the Giants’ passing game. We have him ranked outside TE1 territory, but close enough for streaming potential if you’re missing Dallas Goedert on a bye.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Daniel Bellinger doesn’t have a tremendous amount of volume, but he’s scored a touchdown in two of his four games this season and was on the field for 74% of the team’s offensive snaps last week against the Packers. He finished with two catches and one rush for 24 total yards and a touchdown.

Bellinger has some deep streaming potential against the Ravens this week. Baltimore ranks 28th in aFPA to opposing tight ends, so the potential is there for him to sneak into the end zone again. We have him as a low-end TE2 option, so he’s for desperation or bye-week filler only in deeper leagues.

NYG TE Daniel Bellinger - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Green Bay Packers (London)

Daniel Bellinger isn’t lighting the world on fire, but he’s had eight targets over the past two games and scored a touchdown in Week 2. He leads the tight end room in New York with 153 of 270 snaps this season, including 60% of the offensive snaps in each of the past two games. The Packers rank 15th in aFPA to opposing tight ends, so there’s some opportunity there, but the Giants have quarterback concerns with and without Daniel Jones’ injury situation, so Bellinger is best left on waivers for now. Keep an eye on his production though, and he’s an excellent dynasty stash option.
