Week 5 vs. Minnesota Vikings
Despite what looked like an easy matchup on paper, Daniel Jones struggled against Washington last week. He got a blowout victory and threw for 225 yards and a touchdown, but he also threw a pair of interceptions. Jones added 33 yards on the ground on five attempts, giving him 61 rushing yards through two starts. Jones has already shown an ability to be a better fantasy option than he was initially considered as a rookie, however, and he should benefit from the return of Golden Tate from suspension.
While Jones looks like a decent fantasy option long-term, this week may not be the best time to count on him. The Vikings are stout defensively and have the sixth-best defense in football, allowing a mere 15.8 points per game. They just lost to Chicago and are actually tied for 16th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks, but this still isn’t a great matchup for a marginal fantasy starter anyway. Outside of leagues where you start two quarterbacks, Jones should be left on the bench this week.
