NYG WR Darius Slayton - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Darius Slayton caught three of the eight balls thrown his way last week for 32 yards. The Giants were making a concerted effort to make some big plays with Slayton, but the Patriots defense was too formidable. He’s an interesting long-term fantasy stash in deep leagues and in dynasty formats, as he’s flashed legit potential as an outside threat. However, he’s too volatile and is likely the fifth receiving option in that offense when everyone is healthy, making him too risky to roster in most leagues.

Update: With Sterling Shepard out, Slayton could see an increase in targets in what could be a great matchup. He has some sneaky upside in deep leagues.

NYG WR Darius Slayton - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New England Patriots

Darius Slayton caught four of the five passes thrown his way last week against the Vikings, gaining 62 yards and scoring the first touchdown of his NFL career. Slayton brings ability as an outside deep threat to the offense, something the team sorely needs among a group of receivers who are stylistically a better fit in the slot.

This week, Slayton has some upside with Sterling Shepard set to miss the game due to a concussion. While Golden Tate and potentially Cody Latimer might see an increase in targets as well, Slayton should benefit the most. If the Giants fall behind against the Patriots early on, Slayton could get some deep targets as they try to make a game of it. Slayton is way too risky to count on in most situations, but if you’re looking for a boom-bust flyer, you could do worse.

NYG WR Darius Slayton - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Darius Slayton caught both balls thrown his way last week against Washington, gaining 13 yards. Slayton is likely to be a boom-or-bust fantasy player every week. He has big-play ability and is more suited to play downfield than the other receivers on the Giants’ roster, but he also is unlikely to rack up targets as the fourth or fifth option in the passing game, depending on how you feel about Wayne Gallman. Slayton has some long-term stash potential in deep dynasty leagues, but should stay on waivers in most redrafts.

NYG WR Darius Slayton - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Washington Redskins

Presumably, all that time with the backup unit paid off in building a rapport with Daniel Jones, as Darius Slayton caught three passes for 82 yards in his first NFL action. Slayton is a deep threat and looks like more of an outside receiver than other Giants receivers like Sterling Shepard and the suspended Golden Tate, giving him the potential to win a legit starting job. Slayton is too risky to roster in anything but deep dynasty formats, but his potential is intriguing and fantasy owners should watch him moving forward to see if he can carve a role.
