TEN WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

DeAndre Hopkins didn’t find the end zone last week in a loss to the Steelers after scoring three touchdowns in Will Levis’ debut in Week 8. He ended up catching four balls for 60 yards as the Titans struggled with the Pittsburgh pass rush. Hopkins was targeted 11 times in Levis’ second start, however, and it’s clear the rookie quarterback knows who his most talented pass-catcher is.

This week, Hopkins faces a Tampa Bay defense that ranks 30th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers, and was just absolutely torched by the Texans’ receiving corps, including former Cowboy Noah Brown. Expect a good performance from Hopkins against a vulnerable secondary and we have him ranked as a quality WR1 option. Start him in every fantasy league.

TEN WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Pittsburgh Steelers
A combination of pedestrian production to-date and a questionable QB situation put a serious dent in Hopkins' fantasy projections heading into Week 8, but those projections will have to be adjusted this week as Hopkins exploded with Will Levis under center. Hopkins only saw six targets but was extremely efficient, catching four passes for 128 yards and three scores. Hopkins has been unremarkable this season but the insertion of Levis into the starting lineup is a variable that could boost his fantasy prospects significantly if the young passer seizes the starting job. The Steelers are having a hard time slowing down opposing receivers this season, which makes Hopkins an interesting flex option heading into Week 9.

TEN WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Atlanta Falcons
DeAndre Hopkins logged a nice performance in Week 5, but he crashed back to Earth in Week 6 when he saw just five targets and only caught one of them for 20 scoreless yards. Hopkins will always maintain a strong target share in the Tennessee offense given his lack of proven target competition ((he's still sitting at 29% on the season), but the injury to Ryan Tannehill threatens the fantasy prospects of just about everyone in the Titans' offense. Rookie second-round pick Will Levis is set to make his first regular season start this week, and it will come against a tough opposing defense in the Falcons. Levis under center lowers Hopkins' floor and ceiling, making him a high-risk flex option at best this week.

TEN WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Baltimore Ravens (London)
Looking fully healthy, DeAndre Hopkins dominated the Tennessee passing game in Week 5 and posted his best performance of the season. Hopkins saw 11 targets and caught eight of them for 140 scoreless yards. Hopkins had three catches of 20+ yards, which is a great sign that he can still be efficient on what we already know will be strong volume. Treylon Burks does not look like he will be back anytime soon, meaning Hopkins should sustain a very strong target share in the coming weeks. Hopkins will not travel to London to take on the Ravens in an early game this Sunday. The Ravens have a strong defense overall, but have been largely mediocre at suppressing the production of opposing wideouts. Hopkins is a great bet for double-digit targets given his lack of competition this week, which puts him on the WR2 borderline for fantasy.

TEN WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Indianapolis Colts
DeAndre Hopkins had another slow game in Week 4 when he saw six targets and caught four of them for 63 scoreless yards. Hopkins has a 29% target share through four games in Tennessee. That looks good on paper, but Hopkins and the passing offense in general have not been very efficient. Hopkins' 2.14 yards per route run is middling, and his 7.0 yards per target ranks 63rd amongst wideouts. Hopkins is seeing as much volume as could reasonably be expected in the Tennessee offense, but he is not making big plays or finding the end zone with enough regularity to be an exciting fantasy option. The Colts present a good matchup for Hopkins and the Titans, but he can't be considered anything more than an unexciting flex option in PPR formats given his performance so far in 2023.

TEN WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
DeAndre Hopkins has a robust 30% target share from Ryan Tannehill through three games, but the Titans' offense has been so inefficient that he has yet to log anything better than a WR26 finish on the week (which was in Week 1 before he suffered an ankle injury). Hopkins should be nearing full health now, but it looks like he is going to have to rely almost entirely on volume to return useable fantasy results unless Ryan Tannehill and the offense see dramatic improvement. Hopkins gets the Bengals this week, who have been about average in terms of allowing fantasy production to opposing receivers through three games. Hopkins can be started as a flex in PPR leagues, but he has very limited upside given his current offensive environment.

TEN WR DeAndre Hopkins - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Cleveland Browns
DeAndre Hopkins did not practice last week but ended up playing in Week 2 against the Chargers, although his ankle issue clearly limited him as he only played 57% of the Titans' offensive snaps. Hopkins' limited workload led to a disappointing fantasy day, but he still saw 13 targets in Week 1 and should be closer to full health this week against the Browns in Cleveland. The matchup against Cleveland is a difficult one as the Browns have a good pass rush and have been tough on opposing passing games so far this season. The Titans will likely lean heavily on Derrick Henry and the rushing attack this week as the Browns have been more vulnerable on the ground, but Hopkins should still see enough opportunity to make for a reasonable flex play in Week 3.
