New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who missed the first three-and-a-half weeks of training camp with a thumb injury, was removed from the non-football injury list, a source told ESPN's Field Yates.

Fantasy Impact: 

This updates a previous story from today that said Thomas and Edelman were spotted at practice and could be close. Turns out Edelman is set to go but Thomas not quite yet, and remains on the PUP list. Gordon was just moved to the NFI list after being reinstated by the NFL.

Reporters were present for a very brief warmup period, and Julian Edelman and Demaryius Thomas took part in that part of practice.

Fantasy Impact: 

Reiss went on to say this could be an indication they are coming off the NFI/PUP lists. Edelman is dealing with a thumb issue while Thomas' injury is to his Achilles.

The New England Patriots have placed WR Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list to begin training camp, per Field Yates on ESPN.

Fantasy Impact: 

Thomas is recovering from a torn Achilles suffered last December and signed a one-year deal with the Patriots in April. The once star receiver has now endured two torn Achilles and is on the downhill trend of his career at 31 years old. It's possible he is facing an uphill battle for a roster spot with the Patriots, who also spent a first-round pick on Arizona State's N'Keal Harry. The Patriots also have the option of placing Thomas on the reserve/PUP list, which would mean he will miss the first six games of the season. Thomas is currently ranked No. 115 among wide receivers.

The Patriots are giving former Broncos and Texans WR Demaryius Thomas a 1-year deal worth up $6M, source said. They discussed trading for him last year, signed him this year.

Fantasy Impact: 

Thomas caught 59 passes for 677 yards and five touchdowns last year playing for the Broncos and Texans. He is coming off his second Achilles tear of his career, so the first order of business will be for Thomas to get healthy and to make New England's roster.
